Description

1. Product Overview

The IndusKey INK320 is a robust industrial-grade digital chlorophyll sensor engineered for continuous online monitoring of algae and phytoplankton in demanding aquatic environments. Featuring advanced fluorescence sensing technology with a sapphire optical window and an integrated automatic cleaning brush, the INK320 delivers accurate, stable measurements with minimal manual intervention.
The sensor employs RS-485 communication with standard MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling seamless integration into existing industrial control systems, PLCs, and SCADA platforms. All calibration data is stored internally within the sensor memory, facilitating true plug-and-play installation. With its titanium (Ti) housing rated to IP68, the INK320 is built for reliable long-term operation in demanding environments including water treatment facilities, hydrological monitoring stations, and process control systems.

2. Technical Principle

Measurement Technology

The INK320 employs the fluorescence method for chlorophyll measurement. A high-intensity LED emits excitation light at a specific wavelength, causing chlorophyll molecules in the water sample to fluoresce. The emitted fluorescence is detected by a high-sensitivity photodiode through a sapphire optical window. The signal intensity, proportional to chlorophyll concentration, is processed by an integrated microprocessor and converted to concentration values using established calibration algorithms.

Signal Processing

An integrated microprocessor performs real-time signal conditioning, filtering, and temperature compensation. The raw fluorescence signal is amplified, digitized, and processed to eliminate ambient light interference and electronic drift. Advanced algorithms ensure stable readings across the full operational temperature range, delivering reliable measurements in varying environmental conditions.

Communication Protocol

The INK320 implements standard MODBUS RTU protocol over RS-485 physical layer. This industry-standard communication interface enables multi-drop networking with up to 247 devices on a single bus. The protocol supports read/write operations for measurement data, calibration parameters, and device configuration, allowing seamless integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, and data loggers.
